At Rokesly, Every Child Matters in Every Way

Rokesly Infant and Nursery school is a safe and nurturing place to grow. We have a culture of safeguarding, respectful relationships, and well-being at the heart of our ethos.

Our Curriculum

Through the curriculum, assemblies and special events, we proactively promote a safe school culture. We teach our children about personal safety both online and in real life. Our relationship and health education curriculum ‘1decision‘  coaches children through difficult situations and scenarios which gives them the opportunity to discuss the best solutions.

Online safety

Our children are taught how to keep themselves safe online as part of their IT curriculum. The school’s filtering system (LGfL) blocks harmful and inappropriate content so that our children can access the internet in safety.

For more information on keeping your child safe online at home visit our ‘How to Help your Child‘ page.

Safeguarding at school

All adults working in school have a statutory duty to keep children safe. For information about this duty, click this link: Keeping Children Safe in Education Part 1.

At Rokesly Nursery and Infants school we have a Designated Safeguarding team to ensure your children are safe. The team is made up of:

  • Headteacher – Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL)
  • Assistant Headteacher- Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leader (DDSL)
  • School Business Administrator- Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leader (DDSL)
  • Safeguarding Governor

We work with children, parents and other agencies to ensure the right support is in place to protect children from harm.

If a child makes a disclosure to an adult in school, we will work together with Haringey Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to decide on the best way to keep the child safe from harm. Click the link for information about ‘When a child makes a disclosure’

Rokesly infants school’s child protection and safeguarding policy can be found on our policies page.

Difficulties could include housing issues, domestic issues, support for mental health and well-being, support after a SEND diagnosis and parenting support.

If you are experiencing any difficulties a good first step would be talking with one of the Rokesly safeguarding team. we could signpost you to services who can help or make an Early Help Referral for more support.
